1871 Census 12 St Ann's Place, Stockwell, Lambeth. Place of birth Paddington. There's no other link to Paddington, the other children born Bushey and "Harfordshire" as expected. Family must have stopped briefly in Paddington as they migrated from Nr Rickmansworth Herts to Lambeth.
In 1881 Census appears to be the Elizabeth Daniell working as a 13 yr old servant 9 Stabsfield Rd Stockwell Lambeth, armound the corner fro her family. Names of the rest of the family match Nanny Tilley's notes, and the oldest daughter is a "General Servant Out of Work"
From age 13 onwards, gave her place of birth as Brixton, and was never able to get a copy of her birth certificate. This mystery now finally solved - she was born in Paddington.
Granddaugher Lily Goss (nee Tilley) and family rented top floor of her house in Fountain Rd Mitcham. Brenda remembers this being until she was 6 (1954), having to go through her kitchen to use the outside facilities, and that during this time she (Elizabeth) fell and broke her hip.
Elizabeth married William Wood, son of Frederick Wood and Jane Patten, in 1885 in Walworth, St. Saviour Surrey.11 (William Wood was born on 1 Aug 1866 in Lambeth, London,30 died on 8 Sep 1945 in Mitcham, Surrey 31 and was buried in London Rd Cmtry No. 7787 Plot 13 Class E 32.)
